1916 FORD MODEL T FIRE TRUCK
Owner: Joseph T. Findysz
This
brass-era Model T beauty, with its characteristic white tires and painted wooden
spoke wheels, was modified into a chemical truck back on March 1, 1916, by James
Boyd and Brothers, Incorporated. The Boyds were well known for constructing
small trucks, hose carts, and chemical carts in the early days of the twentieth
century. This particular chemical truck was used in the railroad yards of California
during its prime. The easy portability of small trucks made this Ford Model
T-based apparatus ideal for stopping a small fire from becoming a blazing
inferno.
