1936 FORD PUMPER
Owner: Joseph T. Findysz
Tucson, AZ
The
ski resort area of Purgatory, Colorado, originally owned this distinctive
looking prewar Ford fire truck in the late Thirties. Powered by a standard
flathead V-8, its tank has a capacity of 500 gallons of water, and is equipped
with a 250gpm Barton fire pump. Thanks to Ford's rugged built quality, it
remained on call in Colorado for a half-century, until it was finally taken out
of service in 1986. It now spends its well-earned retirement in sunny Arizona.
